Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. Local storage is a related note kept by the browser. This page explains what Toolkit Lighthouse uses, how long it lasts, and how to refuse optional storage. Refusing does not block reading the site, sending a brief, or opening assessments. For how we handle personal data more generally, see the privacy notice.
What we use today
The consent banner stores your choice in local storage under the key toolkitLighthouse_cookieConsent. That note is not a third-party cookie. It remembers Accept or Reject until you clear site data. We do not currently load a separate analytics service. If we later add first-party measurement, it will appear in the table below and will run only after Accept.
Essential operation of the static pages does not require a cookie. Forms send a message to our desk; they do not set a marketing cookie.
Table of names
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| toolkitLighthouse_cookieConsent | Stores whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, so the banner does not return on every page load. | Until you clear local storage for this site | Toolkit Lighthouse (first party, local storage) |
| Host technical logs (not a browser cookie) | Our host may record IP address and time to keep the site reachable and to diagnose faults. | Set by the host's log rotation, typically days to weeks | Site host for toolkit-lighthouse.click |
Essential and optional
Essential: serving the pages, the consent note so we know not to nag you, and any host logs needed to keep the house online. Optional: analytics cookies. None are set today. If they are introduced, they will be optional and listed here.
Third parties
We load fonts from Google Fonts when you open a page. That request may allow Google to see your IP address and the font files you need. It is not a Toolkit Lighthouse marketing cookie. Images on this site are requested from public image hosts (for example Unsplash or Pexels); those hosts may see the request. We do not embed advertising networks.
How to manage or disable
Use Accept or Reject on the banner. Rejecting stores the same local key with the value rejected and does not load optional cookies. You can also clear cookies and local storage for toolkit-lighthouse.click in your browser settings, or use the browser’s site settings to block cookies. Blocking all storage may show the banner again on the next visit.
Impact of disabling
The assessments, rates, field notes, and contact form remain available. You may see the banner again if the consent note is missing. We will not hide content behind an accept wall.
Changes
If we add analytics or another third-party cookie, we will update this table and ask again only if the purpose is new. Questions: info@toolkit-lighthouse.click.
